Chemical Technician
Department: Research & Development

About the Role
A global leader in the chemical sector is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Chemical Technician to support its Research & Development operations. The successful candidate will work in a modern laboratory environment, performing testing, analysis, and reporting to help develop and deliver innovative chemical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a variety of laboratory tests following established industry and company procedures.
  • Prepare chemical components, additive blends, and formulations for internal and customer-focused testing.
  • Carry out preliminary analysis, interpret data, and produce accurate reports and documentation.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Set up and monitor product stability and compatibility studies, recording and communicating findings.
  • Manage small-scale technical projects from start to finish in line with agreed timelines.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment, adhering to relevant health, safety, and quality standards (including ISO).
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of samples and laboratory consumables.
  • Continue to build technical expertise through training and professional development.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Chemistry or closely related.
  • Previous laboratory or chemistry-related experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Commitment to safe laboratory practices and quality standards.

Preferred

  • A relevant qualification in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in formulation, additives, or industrial chemical testing.
