Shift Production Manager (Day)

About the Role
You’ll manage production during your shift, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained to high standards. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll support a culture of continuous improvement while leading a team of four operators and technicians — with scope to expand your team as the company grows.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead day-to-day production operations during your shift in a GMP-compliant environment
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety protocols are met consistently
- Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot and improve processes
- Coach, develop, and support your team, offering clear direction and performance feedback
- Maintain accurate production records and participate in inspections and audits
- Drive operational improvements and support equipment cleaning, maintenance, and validation
- Contribute to building scalable systems and practices suited to a growing start-up
What You’ll Need
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in regulated manufacturing (ideally pharmaceutical or consumer goods)
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or shift management role
- Familiarity with GMP, SOPs, and health & safety regulations
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt in a start-up setting and contribute to business growth
- Experience with production planning and digital tools a plus
Role Details
- Hours: 8am – 4pm (with possible adjustment of ±1 hour in the future)
- Location: On-site, Kent
- Salary: £35,000 – £40,000, depending on experience
