Director
Gareth is joint Owner/Director of the Cranleigh Recruitment Group, starting with the business in 2003. He works closely across all Cranleigh divisions to drive commercial growth and ensure delivery of the most effective recruitment solutions for both Client and Candidate alike.
Joining Cranleigh straight from University, Gareth has gained experience from the “shop-floor” up and is passionate about driving a culture within the business that focuses on providing both candidates and clients alike with a service driven and consultative approach to the recruitment process. Working with a wide range of clients across the STEM industry sectors Gareth has particular expertise in Executive Search, Account Management, People Development and jointly leads Cranleigh Groups Executive search practice.
Director
Alex Salmon is Co-Owner and Director at Cranleigh STEM, a specialist recruitment consultancy partnering with some of the most innovative STEM and sustainability-led businesses across the UK and US.
With over 20 years of experience in the recruitment industry, Alex brings a hands-on, commercially driven approach to helping high-growth companies scale effectively, particularly in critical pre- and post-seed stages. He is known for combining expert search capability with an in-depth understanding of team dynamics, candidate motivations, and industry pressures.
Alex jointly leads in the delivery of its flagship Embedded Recruitment Solution. A model that integrates seamlessly into clients' businesses to offer not just hiring support, but advisory input on internal capability, ATS implementation, and long-term team structure.
Having supported companies like AFC Energy, Xampla, Ivy Farm, and Biochek, Alex is driven by the belief that recruitment, when done well, isn't about filling vacancies, but about building the future of science, technology, and engineering through long-term partnerships.
Associate Director
Katie brings a wealth of STEM recruitment expertise to Cranleigh. Joining the team in 2012, she has gained significant experience in supporting recruitment at every level, from graduate placements through to C-Suite executive appointments. Katie can offer you expertise in both contingency and retained recruitment support.
Based in the heart of the ‘golden triangle’ , her portfolio covers clients across the whole of the UK. Katie has particular expertise in supporting with fast growth businesses with recruitment campaigns, helping start-up’s and SME’s looking to take the next step in their development. Katies knowledge also allows her to identify and provide niche skillets at speed without compensating on fit or quality of the recruitment process.
Katie holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and has been CertRP registered since 2013.
Principal Consultant
Lewis has developed a strong knowledge of the STEM industry working with companies both across the UK and internationally to help secure talent for positions ranging from entry level to senior management. Lewis has successfully partnered with SME’s & Russell group university spin outs alongside working with multinational businesses.
Providing first class, client and candidate care are an absolute priority for Lewis throughout all recruitment processes which have resulted in him building trusted relationships across a wide range of clients in the STEM industry. With particular industry expertise in the Materials, Chemicals and Life Science sectors, Lewis is able to bring a wealth of recruitment experience and determination to help secure candidates with niche skills sets for clients.
Consultant
An experienced Consultant with over 3 years gained working at Cranleigh, Tom is skilled in Graduate Recruitment and Technical Recruitment in both the Scientific and Engineering sectors. Tom takes huge pride in building lasting relationships with his clients and candidates and always ensures the recruitment process is managed in an informed and detailed manner.
Office Manager
Sally heads up our administration team at Cranleigh where she provides first class back up support to our team.
Externally Sally also manages our Pre-Employment Screening Service, which we provide to our clients who seek a comprehensive five year employment and academic screening check for all new starters.
