Description

We’re working with an innovative clean energy business developing hydrogen fuel cell and power generation systems as they scale their engineering team.

They’re looking for a Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to play a key role in developing and delivering next-generation energy systems.

Full-time, Perm

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, technically senior role where you’ll take ownership of electrical and controls design across both new product development and live projects.

You’ll be working across:

· Hydrogen fuel cells

· Hydrogen generation systems

· Integrated power solutions

This is not a pure design role. It’s design, build, test & deliver.

What You’ll Be Doing

· Lead electrical design delivery across R&D and project work

· Define system architectures and undertake design trade-offs

· Produce electrical schematics (single line & detailed wiring)

· Develop specifications for electrical components (motors, transformers, protection systems)

· Support build, integration, and verification of systems

· Own documentation for compliance, validation, and manufacture

· Support safety reviews (HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, C&E)

· Fault finding, testing, and hands-on system evaluation

· Mentor junior engineers within the team

· Work cross-functionally with systems, product, and production teams

What They’re Looking For

· Strong background in electrical system design for industrial equipment

· Experience working to EN 60204 and BS7671 (18th Edition)

· Knowledge of functional safety (EN 61511)

· Experience with Siemens PLCs (hardware/software)

· Comfortable working across design & hands-on testing

· Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering

Nice to Have

· CE / UKCA machinery compliance experience

· EMC / EMI troubleshooting

· Low Voltage Authorised / Competent Person

· Experience with fuel cells, electrochemical systems, or energy systems
